Mobogenie is a versatile and convenient Android manager that will give you full control of your Android devices from your PC. You can download apps, videos, audio files, images, etc., on your PC and install or transfer them on your smartphone or tablet without taking up your devices’ resources.
It also allows you to back up their contents and manage your contacts seamlessly.
Connecting your Android device to Mobogenie can be done using any of the two methods provided – either by plugging it in into your PC using a USB cable or wirelessly. The program offers you a quick connection tutorial, which comes in handy as the connection procedure is not always as straightforward as you may expect. Even when you can clearly see that your Android device is connected to your PC, allowing you to browse its contents, Mobogenie may encounter problems connecting to it, which may be, to say the least, annoying.
Once connected though, the program shows all its power. In its attractive and extremely well-structured interface, you will find all the functions provided in a useful menu on the left side of the window. Here you have three main groups – media you can download from the Internet for you to use either on your PC or your Android device (apps, games, YouTube videos, etc.), tools to help you manage your devices, and a set of functions to navigate through your devices’ contents.
Also, you can search for and download e-books, music tracks, video files, wallpapers, etc., without leaving the program, and transfer them easily to folders on your smartphone. Convenient and useful, as you will not need to use your data allowance to download (usually bulky) media files.
But probably the most interesting features are those that deal with the management of your devices. Here is where Mobogenie unleashes all its beauty. By clicking on the Toolkit tab you will find a one-click backup feature to transfer all the data on your devices to your PC, together with the corresponding restore function, of course. From here you can also install APK and other app files to your Android device that you previously downloaded to your PC, and browse all the files and folders on your device. This new version of the program comes with a neat PC cleaner that will get rid of all junk files stored on your computer, as well as a “one-click root” feature that can root your smartphone to free up memory and to have full access to the device’s sub-system.
If only for these useful utilities, Mobogenie is worth a try. And being as it is a free tool, there is no reason why you shouldn’t keep it on your desktop and enjoy its convenient functionality with your current and future Android devices.
